Dar Salim (born August 18, 1977 in Baghdad) is a Danish actor who has been in many films. In 2008, he was nominated for a Bodil Award in the category of Best Actor for his performance in the film Go With Peace, Jamil. Originally from Baghdad, Iraq, Dar Salim came to Denmark as a six-year-old refugee when he was six years old, where he settled in the Amager district. Following high school, he worked as a tour guide and as a member of the Royal Guard. In 2002, he received his pilot’s licence. He is most recognised now for his work as an actor in films and television shows. The William Esper Studio in New York, as well as the Method Acting School in London, were among the places where he received his training. As well as group classes, he has taken individual lessons from actress Sarah Boberg. His acting career began when he was cast in the television series Forsvar on TV2 in the United Kingdom. In Borgen, he played the part of the Green Party chairman, which was arguably the job that earned him the most attention among Danish television viewers. In early 2013, he served as the host of TV2’s Good Evening Denmark, and he is now acting in the criminal drama Dicte, which airs on the same channel.
