A new report from Page Six revealed that the Pornhub Awards this year will have a presenter from a different background. The outlet confirmed that the legendary director, John Waters, will be the host of this year’s ceremony in what has been described as an unusual choice for the organization.
With that in mind, however, Mr. Waters has said publicly that he was looking forward to the event. In fact, Page Six says Waters believes it’s an “act of patriotism.” The director said to reporters from the outlet that “good filth on-demand” is what everyone needed to stay sane during this “obscene pandemic.”
The director went on to state that giving out a “Pornhub Award” is like a “civic duty” for him. Reportedly, the Real Housewives of New York City star Leah McSweeney, will co-host the event alongside him on the 15th of December.
In case you didn’t know, John Waters is a filmmaker who has gone down in history for cult films and other art forms. Waters first rose to prominence in the 1970s with films like Female Trouble, Pink Flamingos, Multiple Maniacs, and more.

Perhaps his biggest film to date is the 1988 production, Hairspray, which went on to become a huge success internationally and was even made into a musical hit on Broadway. Waters has worked on other movies as well, including Serial Mom, Cry-Baby, Polyester, Pecker, and more.
In other news, John was in the headlines after it was revealed that he had given 375 of his paintings, photographs, and prints to the Baltimore museum.
Baltimore CBS Local reported on comments from the museum director, Christopher Bedford, who said that it was “unquestionably one of the most significant collection gifts” in their history. According to the report, Mr. Waters first became enamored with art when he was a boy in the 1950s.

Waters had visited the museum as a young child and bought a poster from the gift shop. Waters joked that he hung it up in his bedroom, much to the chagrin of some of his friends who couldn’t understand why he did such a thing.
