Prince Williams Attorney Trying To Squash Rumors He Cheated On Kate Middleton With Her Bestie Ros

For nearly a year, a rumor has been swirling in British high society that claims Prince William cheated on Kate Middleton while she was pregnant with their third child, Prince Louis. Now, the story has made its way across the pond and has hit a mainstream American publication.

Despite the efforts of Prince William’s attorneys, In Touch Weekly has published a story claiming that William may have had an affair with neighbor Rose Hanbury, the Marchioness of Cholmondeley (pronounced Chumley).

The magazine’s source says that Middleton “immediately confronted” her husband about the alleged affair, but he “just laughed it off saying there was nothing to it.” However, despite his denial, Middleton has banned all socializing with the Cholmondeleys.

“Kate sees their friendship in an entirely different light now,” says the source.“They come across as a perfect couple who can do no wrong. The reality is most couples have their issues, and William and Kate are no different.”

Even though the cheating scandal “has rocked the palace and their marriage,” there is zero chance that the couple will split.

The Daily Beast says that courtiers claim the cheating allegations are “totally wrong and false.” There is reportedly a self-imposed gag order in the British media about the alleged affair. But, now that the story has hit American media, the palace is concerned.

Giles Coren, a writer for The Times of London tweeted about the alleged affair, but then quickly deleted the tweet and refused to comment about it. Apparently, the palace pressured him to remove it.

The Daily Beast also reports that palace lawyers from the Harbottle and Lewis law firm have served at least one British publication with a legal warning about publishing the rumor.

The warning states: “in addition to being false and highly damaging, the publication of false speculation in respect of our clients’ private life also constitutes a breach of his privacy pursuant to Article 8 of the European Convention to Human Rights.”

If William is using his lawyers, former royal editor of The Sun Duncan Larcombe says that it is a move of last resort. And, if the reports of a falling out between Kate and Rose are true, then the cause “must have been very serious.”

Multiple British news outlets have published stories about a falling out between Kate and Rose – who used to be close friends – and this was their way to hint about the affair without openly saying it.
